Lancaster I ED569 took off 2310 28 June 1943 from Langar. Crashed 0307 29 June 1943 near Wognum (Noord Holland) 5 km NNW of Hoorn homebound. No survivors. Fatalities: PCD Russell (P), R Wood (FE), FE Fielding (N), D Scragg (W/Op), AW Richardson (AB), WWR Cook (AG), JT Lloyd (AG).

608 aircraft took part in this raid, 8 from Langar. Bombing was carried out from 17,000 to 19,500 feet between 01.52 and 02.17.43 industrial buildings and 6,374 others were completely destroyed and a further 15, 000 others damaged. 4,377 civilians died and 230 were made homeless. 25 aircraft were lost.
