Lancaster I ED533 took off 1833 2 Feb 1943 from Langar to lay mines in French waters. Presumed lost over the sea which was confirmed two months later with the recovery from the water of Richard Brown’s body near Biarritz. No survivors. Fatalities: Ralph Isaacs (P), Richard Brown (FE), George Alexander Bisset (N), Willaim Oliver Shelley (W/Op), Kenneth George Peters (BA), John Walter Webster (AG), Frank Bryce Hawkins (AG).
