Born : 3rd August 1920 : Londonderry, Ireland.
Son of : Ernest Alfred Jones Senior and Catherine Jones, nee McGarrigle of 96. Spencer Road, Londonderry, Ireland.
Brother of : Thelma Jones and Joy jones.
Ernest Alfred Jones Senior was a Soldier when he married Catherine McGarrigle in the First Londonderry Presbyterian Church on the 28th September 1917, on returning to civilian life after WW1 he worked as a Painter & Decorator, the Family later moved to Bingham Street, Bangor, Ireland.
Eventually the Family moved to Chilwell, Nottinghamshire.
His Mother, Catherine Jones, nee McGarrigle died on the4th October 1964 and is buried in the same grave as her Son.
Enlisted after March 1938.
Served with 77 Squadron, Bomber Command, Royal Air Force as Ground Crew, stationed at RAF Snitterield, Warwickshire.
he died in an Aerodrome accident at Driffield, Yorkshire when he fell under the wheel of a Whitley Bomber that he was helping to move.
His death was registered in Buckrose, Yorkshire.

The Inscription on the Family grave reads : "Cherished Memories of our darling Son, A. C.F. Llewellyn Jones R.A.F.
Killed on active service April 14th 1940, aged, 19 years.
'Safe in the arms of Jesus'.
Catherine Jones, beloved Mother, at peace October 4th 1964, aged, 68 years".
The Jones Family placed an In Memoriam Notice in the County Down Spectator every year on the anniversary of his death.
The 1941 notice reads :
"Though your smiles have gone forever,
And your voice we cannot hear,
We shall never lose sweet Memories,
Of the one we loved so dear".
the 1944 notice reads :
"We shed many a tear in silence,
We breathe many a sigh of regret,
For he is still ours to Remember,
Though the rest of the world forget".
