Wellington X3409 82 OTU. Take off RAF Gamston for Bullseye training. On return W/T 23.22 then at 00.26 X3409 dived at high speed into the ground near the airfield and exploded. Hitting the ground at Whisker Hills Wood, Babworth killing all the crew.
The 4 Commonwealth members of crew are buried at Ollerton Cemetery.
