He was the son of George and Minnie Manders and the brother of Charles W, Stephen, George Eric, Gwendoline, Vera May, Bertie and John H Manders. In 1921, they lived at Old Westwood, Jacksdale. By 1939, the family had moved to 25, Council Houses, Selston, Nottinghamshire. Thomas Manders and Ellen Elizabeth Hickmott were married in Kent during the summer of 1943 and she lived atErith, Kent after the war.
