John Tring was born in 1851 at Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, he was the son of the late John Tring an agricultural labourer and the late Hannah Tring née Toms.
His father John was born in 1821 at Leighton Buzzard, he died in 1853 at Leighton Buzzard he was aged 32 yrs , his mother Hannah Toms was born in 1822 at Leighton Buzzard, she died in 1891 at Leighton Buzzard, she was 69 yrs of age, they were married on 24th December 1841 at Leighton Buzzard they had 5 children,
John married his first wife Catherine Chamberlain born 1854 at Leighton Buzzard she died in 1898 at Nottingham, she was 44 yrs old, they were married in 1875 at Nottingham, they went on to have 9 children.
He wennt on to marry his second wife Sarah Ann Bartram born 1860 at Mansfield, they were married in 1907 at Nottingham, his second wife brought 5 children to the marriage.
In the 1911 census the family are living at 29 Stafford Ave, Hempshill lane, Bulwell, John Tring 54 yrs is a blackmsith journeyman, he is living with his second wife Sarah Ann 50 yrs andtwo fo her children, Henry Birchmoor 26 yrs a collier nightman and Lilley Birchmore 15 yrs a lace warehouse girl.
His pension record card shows his dependnet as Sarah Ann Tring of 3 Canell Place, Stockwell Street, Bulwell
Corporal John Tring enlisted and served with the South Nottinghamshire Hussars, he died on 25th October 1919 he is buried at Nottingham Northern Cemetery grave reference. T. 14. 37.
