Family history

He was the son of Ernest and Nellie Hart and the brother of Ethel, Ernest, Willie and Doris May Hart. In 1911 and 1921 they lived in Nottingham's Meadows district at 2,Loughborough Terrace and then at 15, Crocus Street. Bernard Hart and Kathleen Smith were married at Nottingham in 1932 and their daughter Eileen was born in 1938. In 1939, they lived at 12, Bertha Terrace, Meadows, Nottingham.

He was a Passenger aboard MV Peter Maersk sunk by a Uboat.
