Family history

Kenneth Arthur Ward was the son of Albert Edward and Susan Ward and the brother of Edsel B Ward. In 1939, they lived at 'Highfield House', Dixie Street, Weston, Jacksdale, Nottinghamshire. Kenneth Arthur Ward and Rene Miller married in 1943. Their son Kevin was born in 1944. Rene Ward later lived at Kimberley, Nottinghamshire.

Military history

BERLIN 1939-1945 WAR CEMETERY 8 J 30

Ward was an air gunner aboard Lancaster III JB667 which took off 1854 24 Mar 1944 from Warboys. It crashed homebound at Grossbeuthen 4 km NNW of Trebbin. There were six fatalities: Ward + Ronald Richmond (P), George Patrick Rae (FE), James Alfred Green (WO), Raymond Kearney (AB) and Reginald James Faulkner (AG). The navigator Harold Leslie Bird survived to become a POW.
