Pass was the flight engineer aboard Halifax II W7813 which took off 2312 25 May 1943 from Elvington, near York. Shot down by a night-fighter (Oblt Wilhelm Telge Stab.)

No suvivors. Fatalities: Pass + Lewis William Rees (P), F/S David Ronald Gilchrist (AG), Harold William Moore (AB), James Reginald McLeod (WO ), Harry Roots (N) & Charles Henry Sherwood (AG) (all sergeants except Gilchrist).

22 Halifaxes from 77 Sqdn were part of a 759 ac attack on Dusseldorf. W7813 was shot down outbound over Belgium.
