He was the son of John Henry and Anne Pass and the brother of John, Beatrice, Grace, Thomas, Albert, Howard and Frank Pass of (in 1939) 94, Derbyshire Lane, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire

Pass was the flight engineer aboard Halifax II W7813 which took off 2312 25 May 1943 from Elvington, near York. Shot down by a night-fighter (Oblt Wilhelm Telge Stab.)
No suvivors. Fatalities: Pass + Lewis William Rees (P), F/S David Ronald Gilchrist (AG), Harold William Moore (AB), James Reginald McLeod (WO ), Harry Roots (N) & Charles Henry Sherwood (AG) (all sergeants except Gilchrist).
