Francis (Frank) Foulstone was born 1885, at Wakefield he was the son of Thomas Herbert (a railway signalman) and Charlotte Foulstone née Wilburn
His father Thomas Herbert was born in 1860 at Ackworth, Yorkshire, he died in 1915 at Basford Nottingham aged 55 yrs, his mother Charlotte Wilburn was born in 1862 at Stainforth, Yorkshire, she died in 1911 at Basford, she was 49 yrs, they were married in 1883 at Thorne, Yorkshire, they went on to have 11 children sadly 4 were to die in infancy or earl childhood.
He was one of eight children, the first five of them boys. In 1891 the family were living at 36, Manvers Street in Carlton. By 1901 they had returned to Wakefield. The family had moved back to Netherfield by 1911 and lived at 21, Knight Street.
In the 1911 census the family are living at 21 Knight Street, Netherfield, Hebert 48 yrs a widow and railway signalman is living with his 7 children.

Frank enlisted in Derby and served awith 14th (King's ) Hussars (Household Cavalry of the Line). He was killed in action in Mesopotamia and is buried in the Baghdad War Cemetery. Grave Reference: II G 3
Frank's brothers Ralph and Sidney also served in the Great War.
