Family history

Francis (Frank) Foulstone was born 1885, a son of Herbert (a railway signalman) and Charlotte Foulstone. He was one of eight children, the first five of them boys. In 1891 the family were living at 36, Manvers Street in Carlton. By 1901 they had returned to Wakefield. The family had moved back to Netherfield by 1911 and lived at 21, Knight Street.

Military history

Frank enlisted in Derby and served awith 14th (King's ) Hussars (Household Cavalry of the Line). He was killed in action in Mesopotamia and is buried in the Baghdad War Cemetery. Grave Reference: II G 3

Frank's brothers Ralph and Sidney also served in the Great War.
