Edward Rogers was born in 1900 at Hyson Green, Nottingham, he was the son of Edward Carles Rogers a boot repairer and Mary Ann Rogers néé Jackson of 2. Parkhill Terrace, Derby Road, Nottingham.

His father Edward Charles was born in 1864 at London, his mother Mary Ann Jackson was born in 1869 at Nottingham, they were married in 1890, they had 4 children sadly 1 was to die in infancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 312 Denman Street, Nottingham, Edward Charles 47 yrs is a boot repairer, he is living with his wife Mary Ann 42 years and their children, Ida 12 yrs of age, Edward 10 yrs of age and Agnes 6 yrs old.

Military history

Private 2nd class Edward Rogers enlisted and served with the Royal Air Force, he died o 5th September 1918 at Blanford Military Hospital, he is buried at the Nottingham General Cemetery War Plot but with CWGC Headstone.Grave Reference : 03908 : Stone : 10.
