Lancaster III PB240 took off 21.10 12 Aug 1944 from Coningsby. All are buried in Hannover War Cemetery. No survivors. Fatalities: Heason + Ronald Alfred Barringer, Dennis Maurice Beck, John Frederick James Greig, Clarence Victor Plant, Charles Anthony Roberts and Eric Water Yon=ung.

242 Lancasters and 137 Halifaxes attacked Brunswick. 17 Lancs and 10 Halifaxes (7.1% of the force) were lost. 83 Sqdn supplied 9 aircraft of which 3 were lost. (83 Sqdn's ORB [TNA Air27/688/16]). 99 German civilians were killed during this raid.
