Lancaster III ND848 took off 2147 24 April 1944 from Downham Market. Crashed at Loon op Zand (Noord-Brabant) 6 km N of Tilburg.

No survivors. Fatalities:

Bloomer (AB), Roy Douglas Hewlett (AG), John William Hoyle (W/O), Joseph Rigby (N), Douglas Tomlin (AG) and Peter Collinson Wilson (F/E).

A Dutch family rescued Bloomer from the wreckage and hid him from the Nazis but he died from his wounds.
