Family history
James and Teresa Dyson of 412, St Albans Road, Bulwell, Nottingham had gone to spend Christmas with her sister at 33, Chapel Street, Tottington, Lancashire. An enemy V1 ('Doodlebug') attack (probably intended for Manchester) struck several areas in the north of England including Tudhoe, County Durham where a V1 landed on a tennis court causing extensive damage to homes and two churches. Parts of Oldham, Lancashire and Kelsall in Cheshire were also damaged. The Tottington bomb demolished a row of houses and killed six people including the Dysons.
