Son of Herbert and Harriet Digby of Farndon, brother of Sergeant William Digby of the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry who was injured in his tank on D Day and later succumbed to wounds.

Died at Newark General Hospital a few hours after being struck by a jeep at 7am, that was part of a convoy near East Stoke. At the inquest the driver L/Cpl Donald George Cross was believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel.
