2/3 June 1942 Hampden AT154 408 Sqn Took off from RAF Balderton 23.26 mission to the Krupp factories at Essen 23:26. Shot down by Hauptmann Helmut Lent & Feldwebel Walter Kubisch of the Stab II./NJG 2, who were flying Lichtenstein-equipped Bf 110 R4+AC from Leeuwarden airfield, crashed in to the Ijsselmeer a mile off Medemblik at 01.06 outbound with the loss of the crew.
