The fracture being substained 13/5/1942 when he was accidently hit by a lorry as he cycled out of Mill Lane, Halam onto the Mansfield Road. Lorry driven by Sapper Edward Fredette with passenger L/Cpl Napoleon Cloutier of The Royal Canadian Engineers. Buried Church (Rock) Cemetery, Nottingham
