22/23 April 1942 Hampden AE237 408 Squadron Took off from RAF Balderton 19:46. Intercepted by night fighter piloted by Ofw P Gildner II/NJG2 (KIFA 25/2/43). Crashed in the North Sea off Ameland in the Dutch Frisian Islands at 00:07 during a gardening mission, Rosemary area, crew remembered on the Runnymede Memorial.
