27/28 March 1942 Hampden AT176 408 Sqn. Took off 19.21 from RAF Balderton to mine lay the Weser Estuary. Intercepted by 22.42, North Sea off Terschelling by Bf110 R4+EC night fighter piloted by Oblt Helmut Lent NJG2 killing all crew.
