27/28 March 1942 Hampden L4140 408 Sqn. Took off 19.19 from RAF Balderton to mine lay the Weser Estuary. Intercepted 22.10, North Sea off Terschelling by Bf110 R4+EC night fighter piloted by Oblt Helmut Lent Stab II/NJG2 killing all crew.
