27/28 March 1942 Hampden AE219 408 Sqn. Took off 19.27 from RAF Balderton to mine lay the Weser Estuary. Intercepted 22.21, North Sea off Terschelling by Bf110 R4+DM night fighter piloted by Oblt Rudolf Schoenert and Ofw Johannes Richter 5/NJG2 killing all crew.
