William and Ada lost their eldest son Sigmn William Woodroffe, Royal Corp of Signals, 1 HQ Sigs, 14/8/1941. Sigmn Woodroffe of The Old Bothy, Kings Standing, a driver with the RCOS, died at West London hospital from Meningitis caused by Mastioditis.
