Family history

Son of John Blakely and Catherine Ellen Smith of 217 Big Barn Lane, Mansfield. In 1921 they were living with John's parents in Dewsbury.
Gordon was baptised at St Peter's Church on 7th November 1920.

He married Sylvia Tyson in early 1945 so they had been married less than 6 months when Gordon died. He left Sylvia £246 9s & 9d in his will. Their address was given as 29 Clifton Grove, Mansfield.
Sylvia's address in 1939 was 222 Big Barn Lane which is opposite Gordon's home at 217 Big Barn Lane.

Military history

RAF Commands: Died when the motorcycle he was driving collieded with a lorry and trailes near Weyland, Norfolk. LAC Herbert Bailey riding pillon also died.
