Military history
The battalion had sailed from Liverpool in late October 1941 on the P&O liner, Orcades which had been converted to be a troopship. They landed in Singapore on the 29th January 1942 and the Japanese attacked on the 8th February and Singapore fell on the 15th. Ambrose died during the assault on Singapore.
