10/11 January 1942 Hampden AE286 408 Sqn. Take off 16.37 from RAF Balderton part of 124
aircraft raid to bomb Wilhelmshaven. Crews reported good bombing but ground reports stated light raid with little damage and 6 injuries. AE286 lost without trace. Three Wellington’s and two Hampton’s were lost.
