Son of Mabel Beresford of 54 Titchfield Street, Mansfield. Mabel was unmarried when she had Kenneth and she didn't marry Herbert Radley until 1922.
In 1921 Mabel and Kenneth where living with Mabel's widowed mother, Harriet Brocklehusrt at 54 Titchfield Street, Mansfield. Mabel was working in a jam factory has a packer and she was 21 years old.
In 1939 Mabel and Herbert were living seperately, Mabel at 81 Ravensdale Road, Mansfield and Herbert at 3 Francis Street, Mansfield. Herbert and Mabel had one son, Dennis born in 1923. Dennis also served in the Royal Navy.
HMS Hood: Battle of Denmark Straits.
The Hood was trying to locate the German battleships, Bismarck and Prinz Eugen when she was struck by several shells and sank within 3 minutes. Of her crew of 1325 only 3 survived.

The death of a Mansfield man on board HMS Hood has been officially confirmed by the Admirslty.
He is 1st Class Stoker Kenneth Radley, aged 22 son of Mrs Radley of 21 Ravensdale Road, Mansfield. He received his early education at Rosemary Street School and before joining the Navy, about 3 years ago, he was employed by the Raleigh Cycle Co at Nottingham and later at Mansfield Colliery. His brother Dennis is also serving in the Navy.
Both boys were keenly interested in sport and Kenneth took an active part in swimming, football and boxing.
Another Mansfield man, Harry White, a Royal Marine also died in the sinking of HMS Hood.
