There is a Private, Family Memorial on his Parent's grave in Hucknall Cemetery, Broomhill Road, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire Commemorating Corporal, Harold Henry Howitt.
The Inscription on the Family Memorial reads : "In loving Memory of a dear Husband and Father, Henry T.H. Howitt who died March 21st 1947, aged 68 years
Also Florence Howitt, beloved Wife of the above and a dear Mother whodied Dec. 28th 1957, aged 76 years.
Also of their Son, Cpl. Henry Howitt, Sherwood Foresters who died of wounds at Anzio Beach Head, Italy, April 22nd 1944, aged 30 years".
The Memorial is no longer upright, it lies flat on the ground and despite a few missing letters is still reasonably legible.
