Halifax III LV859 took off 2000 26 Mar 1944 from Melbourne. Shot down by a night-fighter and crashed at Westum in the SW outskirts of Sinzig a largish town on the W bank of the Rhine some 33 km NW of Koblenz. No survivors. Fatalities: Walker (AG)+ T Wilson (P), A Kennedy (FE), EA Colborn (N), CE Girling (W/Op), FA Moody (AB), R Hutcheon (AG)
