Son of Arthur Percy and Rose M Finch of 9 Trinity Road, Halstead, Essex. Arthur died on 8th June 1933.
Siblings: George (1916), Leonard (1919), Richard (1920) and Lily (1924).
He was baptised at Holy Trinity, Halstead on 17th January 1909.
He married Doris Winifred Mills in the spring of 1936 at Dartford, Kent.

World War 2 Civilian War Dead: Municial Borough of Louth:
Finch, Alfred William age 34. Son of MrsA Finch of 9 Trinity Road, Halstead, Essex, and of the late A Finch. Husband of Doris Winifred Finch of 12 Abbey Road, Mansfield Nottinghamshire. Injured 6th January 1943 at Mabelthorpe died 7th February 1943 at Louth and District Hospital.
A bombing raid on the 6th January killed 9, 3 children from the Price family (aged 3, 4 and 16) of 92 Victoria Road, Mabelthorpe and 6 men who where in the Victoria Road Social Club. Alfred survived the bombing but succumbed to his injuries a month later.

War Cabinet Report: Air-Raid Damage 6/1-13/1/1943:
Homeless: a rest centre was opened at Mabelthorpe Lincs, as a result of H.E. (high explosive) and UXB (unexploded bombs) dropped during a daylight hours raid on 6th January.
Food: retailers premises were damaged at Mabelthorpe, Torquey and Teignmouth.
Gas & Electricity: gas mains were damaged by H.E. bombs at Mabelthorpe on 6th January.
