He was the son of Frederick and Sarah Ellen Cotton of Nottingham. In 1939 they lived at 44, Balfour Road, Lenton, Nottingham. He was the nephew of Mr and Mrs F Garton of Nottingham.
Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery 8 E 27
Lancaster III ND696 took off 1707 8 Feb 1945 from Coningsby in the first phase strike against a synthetic-oil production plant. Believed shot down at R_dersdorf 26 km ESE from the centre of Berlin where those killed are buried in the city's 1939-1945 War Cemetery.

Unusual 9 man Lancaster crew. It is assumed that Broad and Cameron were on board for training purposes.
