He was the son of John William and Mary Sophia Bradbury and the brother of Norman W Bradbury of 3, Welbey Avenue, Lenton, Nottingham.

This was Bradbury's 34th operation. Halifax III LL558 took off 1834 7 Mar 1945 from Burn. Shot down through the combined efforts of Flak and night-fighter crashing at about 2215 7 Mar 1945 near Averlak 5 km N of Bruns_ttel
According to German documents 578 Sqn Halifax LL558 crashed at 22.05 hrs at Averlak, bei Kundense/Kaiser-Wilhelm Kanal, 12km W Marne (Luftwaffe map grid square AT 1). 'Averlak' may be a corruption of Eddelak.

The captain Frank Blunstone seems to have survived the crash but died in captivity the same day. Along with Bradbury, four other crewmates died: Stanley Alan Gilbert, William Henry Pilgream, Gordon Oswald Powell and Jacob Thornber. (Source: rafcommands)
