He was killed in action over Caen.

Lancaster III NE150 took off 0025 7 June 1944 from Metheringham to bomb communications in tactical support of the Normandy Landings. Crashed near St-Jean-de- Daye (Manche) where five of the dead were buried 8. Six fatalities: FE Corner (FE), MGM Warren, RL Puckett, NCV Rooker, MH Wigham, SK Black. F/O John Drylie became an Evader.
