Son of George and Mary Sargeant of 2 Byron Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse. George had died in 1927.
Siblings Marjorie (1916), Dorothy (1918), Albert (1922) and Eric (1927).
Frank married Margaret Lucy Jackson in 1938. They lived at 2 Robin Hood Avenue, Edwinstowe. They had no children
Took part in the invasion of Italy.

The many friends of L/cpl Frank Sargeant of the2/5th Sherwood Foresters of 2 Robin Hood Avenue, Edwinstowe will regret to hear that his wife has received official information that he lost his life whilst crossing the Alps with a party of British and Italian partisans. They were trying to get from Italy to France to join the French Command. The British were prisoners of war in Italy at the time of that country's capitulation.
Unfortunately they met with blizzards and snowstorms. He was the eldest son of Mr & Mrs Sargeant of Mansfield Woodhouse and before joining the forces worked with Mt T H Waby of New Ollerton
