Married Hilda Elsie Marsh of 44 Houghton Road, Mansfield in 1939. She was working has a bus counuctress in 1939. Hilda married Lesie Bowmer in late 1943.

Military history

The 1st Bn of the parachute Regiment parachuted into Beja 90 miles west of Tunis Tunisia to capture a vital road junction. They captured both Beja and Mateur. From February 1943 they were deployed as a normal infantry battalion throughout the rest of the Tunisia Campaign.
