Military history

The 2nd Bn were based on Crete when the Germans launched an airborne invasion on the 20th May 1941. After heavy fighting the Allied forces were pushed south and between 28th May and the 1st of June the Allied forces were evacuated. Several ships were sunk during the evacuation leading to numerous casulties. Benjamin was one of these casulties.
