HMS Karanja

The liner Karanja, requisitioned by the Admiralty for service as a landing ship for infantry, was bombed by German aircraft and sank near Bougie, Algeria. 99 men were lost including Ordinary Seamen Donald Gardiner and Cyril Goodacre both from Radford, Nottingham.
