William was the eldest son of William and Gertrude Poyser (née Easom).
His parents were married in 1913 (JAS, Nottingham) and had four children: William b. 3 October 1913, Stanley b. September 1914, Florence b. October 1916 and Gertrude b. January 1920.
In 1921 Gertrude (b. 1892) and her four children were living with her mother, Hannah Easom, a lace needlewoman on her own account/working at home, at 21 Price Street, St Ann's, Nottingham. The census recorded that both the childrens' parents were living.
By 1939 Gertrude and her children, William a steel stores slinger (ROF), Stanley a letter press machine printer, Florence a tent maker (machinist) and Gertrude a cardboard box maker, were living at 17 Laurie Close, Nottingham.
William married Gladys Maud Jervis in 1942 (JAS Nottingham) and they had a son, Anthony T., in 1943 (OND Nottm).
Gladys Jervis (b. August 1921) was the daughter of Harry and Elizabeth Ethel Jervis. In 1939 Harry, a plumber, Elizabeth and their two daughters, Ethel (b. 1915) a hosiery mender, and Gladys, were living at 5 Linby Close, Nottingham.
Gladys married secondly Harry George Yeates (b. 1917) in 1947 (JAS). Harry died in 2004 and Gladys on 5 November 2016 aged 95.

William died on 8 February 1945 and was buried in Arnold Cemetery, Nottingham (grave ref. Class B. Cons. Grave 4140).

There is a commemorative stone on the grave, inscription: 'Gladys Yeates 1921-2016 much loved Mum and Nana Now at rest with her beloved Bill.
