Mr and Mrs T Trueman of 51 Coke Street, Mansfield Woodhouse have received official notification that their son, L/cpl John Thos Trueman of the West Yorkshire Rgt died of typhus whilst serving in the Indian theatre of war. He had been wounded last April.
L/cpl Trueman who was 22 joined the army five years ago and had been abroad two and a half years. He was formerly employed at Welbeck colliery.
