Son of Fred and Alice Munks. William was baptised at St Edmunds Church on 25th February 1914. At the time of his baptism the family were living at 37 George Street, Mansfield Woodhouse. His younger sister, born 7/1/1914, was baptised on the same day.
He married Elsie Walls on 22nd August 1932. They had 3 children, Kenneth 1934, John F 1936 and Beryl in 1938.
In 1939 they were living at 4 Meden Road, Mansfield Woodhouse.

Military history

Royal Artillery 510 bty 82 Searchlight: Formed in Novemeber 1940 at Saltash, Cornwall and served as an anti-aircraft command. It was disbanded in Jan 1945. From June 1943 to Jan 1945 they were based at Coltishall, Norfolk.
