Son of George Alfred and Lucy Mallatratt. He was baptised on 7th January 1897 at St John's Church, Mansfield.
On 22nd March 1919 he married Winifred Mead and they had 2 sons, Edward born 3rd October 1919 and Derrick born 22nd November 1923. At the time of their marriage Albert lived at 10 Marshall Terrace Nottingham and Winifred was living at 13 Marshall Terrace.
In 1911 Albert was living with his maternal grand-father, Joseph Wilson at 23 Wood Street, Mansfield and was working as an errand boy. Joseph was a master plasterer a trade that Albert would later join.
In 1939 Albert and Winifred were living at 23 Wood Street, Mansfield.
His older brother, William George died on the 18th September 1918 whilst serving with the Sherwood Foresters in WW1.
Can find no trace of Albert on CWGC so why he is recorded on the memorial is not known.
His son, Derrick served in the Royal Artillery in WW2
