Son of John Henry and Ada Lindsey of 66 Yorke St, Mansfield Woodhouse.
Siblings, Horace (1912), John (1918), Constance (1921) Margaret (1923), Kittie (1926) and Jean (1928).
George was on flight training when he crashed. Flying from Montrose, Angus, Scotland in a Master I serial No N7715 his aircraft stalled and crashed at Edzell when overshooting from approach during night circuits and landings exercise. The aircraft caught fire when it crashed. George was the sole occupant.
On official documents and CWGC George's surname is spelt Lindsey not Lindsay.
Buried at Mansfield Woodhouse Cemetery, plot B3040.

Many people learned with regret of the tragic death of Sgt-Pilot George Norman Lindsry , son of Mr & Mrs J H Lindsey of 66 Yorke St Mansfield Woodhouse at the age of 24.
He died on Friday last following a flying accident at his station in Scotlan. He was called up to the RAF Volunteer Reserve in March and gained his wings only 3 weeks later.
He was formerly employed by Messrs W Hollins & Co, and as a student manager he had passed through all the departments at Pleasley Vale and Radford Mills.
