Son of Walter and Clara Illingworth of 15 Woodland Grove Mansfield Woodhouse.
In 1942 he married Kathleen Daly of 7 Cavendish Street, Mansfield.
Mansfield Chronicle Advertiser: 10/2/1944: Died in Italy.
Mr & Mrs W Illingworth of 15 Woodland Grove, Mansfield Woodhouse have received news that their only son, Pte Norman Illingworth of the Sherwood Foresters died of wounds in Italy on 8th January 1944. He was wounded in Italy in September. He joined the Army in January 1942 and went on service abroad in February 1943.
On the memorial board the name is Illingworth M but would appear that it should be Illingworth N.
Buried in the cemetery at Minturno.
