Military history

The 44th landed in Normandy on the 9th June 1944 as part of Operation Overlord and later took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnham).
On the 18th February 1945 the regiment moved to Tilburg and then on 23rd they moved towards the Sigfried Line concertrating around Goch on the 26th. There was much fighting between 27th Feb and 3rd of March. Norman died during this period of fighting.
