25/26 February 1941 Wellington T2621 103 Sqn. Take off from RAF Newton to bomb Dusseldorf.

Dusseldorf covered by cloud and bombing results were poor. 1 civilian injured fighting a fire, 2 Flak gunners slightly injured and a farm barn destroyed. 80 aircraft took part in the raid.

T2621 the only loss, coned by a searchlight of 13./III./Flak Regiment. 26, and then shot down by anti-aircraft fire by 10./II./Flak Regiment. 44. After being hit the bomber exploded and crashed in River Rhine 1 kilometer to the north of the Rhine bridge at Homberg near Duisburg.
