Killed after being struck by an RAF lorry at North Muskham. Uncle to Newark Coroner J B Norman, deputy Coroner J Esam, heared the deceased had just got off a bus at North Muskham and was talking to John Talbot of Church Row when a RAF Lorry came over the railway bridge. The driver applied the brakes but due to the treacherous nature of the road these did not hold the lorry, the driver tried to steer into a side road, but skidded into the deceased. LAC Buckingham the driver of the lorry attributed the accident to the skid caused by the slippery road surface. Verdict Accidental Death.
