Oldest son of George Lewis and Gertrude Alice Raynor. Siblings Gertrude Alice born 1916 and Lewis born 1922.
Memorial states "A scholar, teacher and member of this church (Carlton Standhill Rd Methodist) who died on September 1st 1943 in Thailand whilst working as a prisoner of war on the Bankok-Siam Railway".
Captured at the fall of Singapore on 15th February 1942 and died of colitis whilst a Japanese prisoner of war on 1/9/1943. The cemetery at Thanbyuzayat is on the route of the Burma-Siam railway.
