Son of William Henry and Florence Elizabeth Kidd of Basford. In 1921 and 1939 they lived at 6 Wilford Road, Ruddington.
Siblings Alice (1903), Burnell (1905) and Arthur (1906).
Married in late 1939 to Mavis Pilkington of Eastwood. They had a son Reginald, who was born after his father's death.
