Family history

Son of James Byron Birkhead and Agnes M. Birkhead of 22 Birkland Avenue, Nottingham.
Siblings: George Thomas (1915), Byron Stanley (1920) and Joan Kathleen (1921).

His brother, George Thomas Birkhead, served in the RAF and died on service. He was killed during an air-raid on RAF Wattisham on the 30th October 1940. He was possibly trying to dispose of SD2 Butterfly bombs.
