Military history
The 8th Bn was stationed in Tunisa for the latter part of the North Africa campaign. In September 1943 they were involved in the landing at Salerno, Italy and later with the crossing of the Volturno Line.
They took part in the battle for Monte Cassino from 17/1-18/5/1044, with Ronald dying in the first few days of the battle.
