Family history

Son of Henry John and Alice Stevens of Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire.
In 1921 the family lived at 22 Thoresby Road, Mansfield Woodhouse. By 1939 Alice, now widowed was living at 179 Yorke Street, Mansfield Woodhouse. Henry John had died in 1936.
Siblings: Ethel, 1900, Florence, 1906, Clarence, 1909 and Winifred, 1919.
In 1940 Horace married Maisie Taylor. Their son, Barrie, was born after Horace's death.
Maisie lived at 8 Beech Hill Avenue, Mansfield

RAF Commands: Died in Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield on 24th July 1941, from injuries sustained when his motorcycle collieded with a lorry earlier that day.

The death has occured as a result of an accident of Leading Aircraftsman Horace Thomas Stevens son of the late Mr & Mrs Stevens of 179 Yorke Street, Mansfield Woodhouse and the funeral took place on Tuesday at the New Cemetery Mansfield Woodhouse.
Mr Stevens who was 26 years of age died on Thursday last week. Before joining the RAF in September last he was employed as a motor mechanic by Messrs H Pye & Sons of Clumber Street Mansfield and he had been married only 16 months. The interment was accompanied by military honours.
Horace is buried at Mansfield Woodhouse Cemetery.
